YO Events

Joint AAO and SOE meeting, Atlanta, November 2008

Thank you to all those who attended our joint YO symposium and reception. The symposium was full of useful information for those wishing to perhaps do a fellowship in the U.S. at some stage. We plan to put up a summary of this information for the web-page. I have also asked for AAO help to put together a list of non-surgical fellowships in the U.S (which means you do not need to take USMLE). We will keep you updated.

SOE Congress, Amsterdam, June 2008

We are running 2 special symposia for YOs.

Complications of Cataract Surgery for Junior Ophthalmologists
(Saturday 13th June, 16.30 – 18.00) will be an excellent video based session run by Brian Little with invaluable tips for how to cope when the unexpected happens.

Young Ophthalmologists in International Ophthalmology
(Monday 15th June, 16.30 – 18.00) will encompass a variety of issues including freedom of movement of professionals and volunteering in developing countries.

There will also be an SOE YO sponsored social event. This will be out of the confines of the congress and will make the most of what Amsterdam has to offer. It promises to be lots of fun! All will be revealed once details are confirmed.
